Butterflies

The butterfly center was spectacular today.  Visitors were surrounded by butterflies while enjoying the effects of air conditioning.  Colors range from batman black and yellows to golden oranges to translucents.

Edith Moore Sanctuary

Each time that I walk across the streets and enter this sanctuary, I am thankful for Ms. Moore's gift to Houston.  The meandering paths are enough for me to lose my way, but all paths intersect further along the way.  It was a delightful morning.

Miksang

My first attemps at color were thwarted by my attitude. Who wants to take a photo of a block of color on a wall.  Finally, I looked at some of the Architects of Air photos where I was surrounded by color. Then the exploration of color for color's sake without all the additions of subject matter was inviting.  Here are the results that encourage me to be immersed in, surrounded by and dwell in the colors.

Displaced Birds

The floods in George Bush Park displaced many birds earlier this week.  After finding a parking location on a closed road, I spent the afternoon bird watching.  I have never considered bird watching a favorite of mine due to the inactivity. This day found more activity than I could follow with the lens.
