Sunset in the park

Sunset in George Bush Park takes on a new look with water in so many areas near and over the roads. Kaaren and I were in various areas of the park including the shooting range.

And the rains came down

Lighting is our elusive friend on these grey days.  These are attempts to capture some lights from the parking lots.

Kentucky

I am always amazed at the bluegrass of Kentucky which provides a perfect backdrop for the fences, barns and thoroughbreds. A beautiful sunrise was followed by a tour of the farms and Keeneland with our knowledgeable guide, Matt.

Southern Ohio and West Virginia

The mainstay of southern Ohio has been the plants.  Along with that comes the effect of air quality.  The weathered barns now trimmed in vines can be seen as we cross over to West Virginia.

A Day of Shooting; A Lifetime of Memories

Out and about with Dee.  How many places can one absorb through the lens in a day?  Many, as we discovered on our travels Over the River and Through the Woods.

Going Home

Going home has many meanings to each of us at different times in our lives.  The fields where I ran barefoot as a child are plush and green.  They represented hard work in the summer and fun times when the work was finished. The home on the hill once shared by me and my three sisters has been lovingly restored.

The town along the river where I spent time at the local hangouts is still there.  Sunrise on a foggy morning brings back memories of long ago.  The old bridge that collapsed at rush hour is long gone but the memories are still vivid in my mind.

Mom and Dad are not in that big house on the hill.  Their memories are etched in stone on another hill.  Gone from this world but not forgotten.  Mother's Day has been a good time to share family memories, honor my family and know that heaven and a reunion awaits.
